Bridge doesn't "load" files, it just shows you what exists on your drives.
In order to help, please explain what you are attempting to do.

I'm trying to open my desktop so I can see what's in the various folders. Just a spinning wheel.
Mac or Windows?
If Mac it might be a permissions issue.
