It's no secret that adobe manages to screw up bridge every time they make a new update, but now they've gone too far. This is supposed to be an organizing program. But what good is an organizer when you can't even name your folders? I made contact several months ago. Only answer I got was to downgrade to an older version. Now there have been two more updates and the problem is still not fixed. They choose not to hear us, and if you raise your (voice), typing, you will be blocked. Its so confusing!!!

I don't understand your title: 'Can´t rename the maps in "the most important" section'

What are the maps and what is the most important section please?

Personally I have no problems renaming anything using Adobe Bride, folders, files etc.

I am not saying that you don't have an issue but it is certainly not something which is universal.

What is your operating system and version of Bridge please?

Sorry for the Misleading headline. Essentials turned to be "the most imortant" somehow.

When you are in The Essentials section, you can organize files, names and add maps etc....

After one of the latest update this feauture goes away. This is where i do all my organizing with renaming of files and maps. I´m on a mac

Hi, @Geir5FE9, the Essentials Workspace has never been removed. I never use it, but that's beside the point (I've always created my own Workspaces, which are easy to do). But even if you are in one of the other Workspaces, you can still organize files, names, and add other items.

Quick question: this should NOT make a difference; I'm just curious: what format are the maps in?

Nonetheless, I think you are new to Bridge and haven't really explored what it can do. Here is more information that might help.

The following is very out of date, but the essentials still hold:

And, if YouTube is more your style, here are several basic tutorials (they are up to date). The first one is mine, just focusing on moving files from one folder to another utilizing the multi-Content Panel options we now have (and didn't have when I wrote the above).

First of all GARY!

I have used Bridge for 15 year, and i also work as a photographer. Before that i work with repair of computers, so i really dont understand how you make this conclusion.

So....since i have used bridge for this long i have a workflow, DAILY!

SO! If i tell you there has been a change in the update (maybe only for mac), it is still a fact.

Even the knuckleheads in Adobe confirm that they dont know how to fix this.

In essential you are able to create a folder. But i cant name it....as i do before, because when they updated bridge, they make this impossible. There are many people having the same problem.

The thing is....this is just one of many other simular mistakes they do.....how i know? I have use it almost every day in.....15 years!!

Please clarify what you are referring to by "maps".  Are these some kind of files of your own? Preferably show an example by uploading a screenshot here. No features have disappeared during the update you mention. Thanks.

Features have absolutely disappered. Adobe support have also confessed it, and tell me to downgrade to the problem is fixed. For me, thats not a good enough answer when the two latest updates dont contained any bugfix.Skjermbilde 2025-02-03 kl. 23.49.08.pngexpand image

So what features do you insist have disappeared?

Are you suggesting that renaming  a folder is a missing feature?

Have you tried using a different workspace?

Have you tried a Bridge Preferences reset? This is known to cure such issues.

I sound rather like Nelson when I say, "I see no maps."

I agree with Erik's confusion. He's on a PC, and I'm on a Mac. I also have no issue renaming files or folders.

Besides his questions, if you can provide a detailed explanation of what you're trying to rename and the process you are having issues with.

Based on your subject, are you trying to rename items within a Map? That's a job for Acrobat, not Bridge.
