Why did Bridge convert my RAW photos to EXE files when I attempted to batch rename the photos? The picture shows when I click on the file but it won't open in Photoshop or Lightroom. How do I convert them back to the original?

I work on a Mac OSX 10.6.8

Try just renaming the files with the proper extension.

Did that and it worked. All photos have been recovered and are now on my ichbinberliner.wordpress.com site.

Bridge cannot convert files in that way. EXE files are Windows programs, and have no use on the Mac. And IIRC you can't run anything later than CS5 on OS X 10.6.8, both of which are VERY outdated and no longer supported or getting security fixes. I strongly recommend updating to a newer version of macOS.
