files not reflecting xmp status

For awhile now I have been seeing that raw files that were processed in camera raw, cropping and exposure are not showing up in Bridge.  Usually if I just reopen in CR and come back to Bridge, they recover and display as they should.  But now I came across 4 pictures that are very dark and uncropped and went to CR and back and they remain the same.  In CR they are cropped and with good exposure.  I went back and made a slight temperature change, as sometimes this stimulates a return to the corrected status but now that isn't working either.

This is really a time wasting annoyance.  I am trying to judge which of a batch I might select for other purposes and all the NEFs are uncropped and I can't determine.  I open in CR, and I see them full size and want to go down the list to look at each, but I press the down arrow and nothing happens.  I keep trying and it just shows the first one,  Minutes pass and I post this and go back and now it is on the bottom one of the list.  Everything takes far too long.

You seem to have a lot of issues, maybe something about your system is the problem? In this particular instance, try purging cache for those files.
