Folders & files not showing in Bridge but show in Explorer

Hi, could anyone shed any light on this issue, please? I've trawled Google & the forum but haven't found anything similar.

I am using MS Windows and the most up to date versions of Adobe CC

When I look at the Folders tab in Bridge I can see 6 folders, but if I look in Windows Explorer I see 19 folders (which is what should be showing).

I also don't see the files I'd expect to see in the folders when looking in Bridge, just lots of .tmp and files with endings like .bak5af403af . However, when I view the same folder in Windows Explorer I can see all the .eps, .ai, .jpg etc.

Any help would be much appreciated, please.
