The masks in ACR are currently only for use within the plugin.

Adding to Stefan's comment, the Masks in LRC, LRD, and ACR are a function of the raw processing tools. Once you convert that to a PSD, TIFF, JPG, etc., that technique is now burned into the image. From that point on, you can utilize PS's tools. Unfortunately, at this point in time, you cannot jump back and forth between the various applications and have the bitmapped tools and the raw tools be equally available. Maybe some time in the future, but not yet, so as Stefan suggested, make a request for such capability.

Because of this, it is important to always keep the original image that you performed Mask techniques on in case you wish to make a change.

Good luck.
