I cannot label or rate files on the card

Since I installed Bridge CC 2017 I cannot label or rate files on the card. When I copy these files to the hard drive, it's OK. I tried purging cache from the preferences, I tried cmd+option+shift and resetting everything, I tried reinstalling the app and deleting all the settings files, no luck.

I see people reporting this problem over and over again ( can't rate photos, can't rate RAW files, can't label, ...). For some purging cache helps, but for some don't. Any ideas what else I can do?

Hi miatrwa,

As you are not able to label or rate this could be a permissions issue. Try moving the files to a new folder and see if you can make changes then. Additionally, you may want to try repairing disk permissions or see if you encounter the same behavior while logged in as the Root user.

Sahil

Hi Sahil,

Thanks, your hint was a bit of a help. I guess it was something with permissions, but I don't know what. I tried fixing permission in Disk Utility, low level formatting on my Mac and Canon, fast formatting on Windows, neither did help. Eventually I did low level format on Windows and it finally resolved the issue.

It'd be nice if in case of a problem Bridge was showing an error message instead of doing nothing ...

Thanks,

Maciej

Maciej, I'm glad it's working for you now. Yes, the permissions got fixed once you performed a low-level format on Windows. feel free to reach out to us for any future queries.
