iPhone import shows no valid files

Using Bridge v9.0.2.219.x64 for iPhone 8+ using iOS12.1.2 on Windows 10.

Bridge shows my iPhone and photo & movie files but all are listed as 0 bytes and no valid previews are shown. I have followed steps shown elsewhere to reset preferences and clear the cache, and tried software rendering. All make no difference whatsoever.

Windows File Explorer sees and imports the files, no problem.

How do I fix Bridge to do the same?

And that being the case, what is the point of Bridge anyway?

It seems that Photo Downloader doesn't properly support some newer devices such as larger iPhones. You'll need to copy files manually.

Thank you for getting back to me and letting me know. That seems like a major oversight in the design of the software. I’ll  switch to using the Windows File Explorer import function  from here on and uninstall Bridge.
