keywords disappeared

New Here ,
Mar 23, 2017 Mar 23, 2017

Hello!

I entered my keywords to the Adobe Bridge, did several hierarchy with keywords and was adding it to my photos. I was doing it several days, and today i opened Bridge and saw that all keywords which i entered disappeared. There are only some standard keywords in the list which was there from the beginning. And days of my work, all my hierarchy, which i carefully did, disappeared. It was hours of my work. What to do? Can i somehow find them in bridge to use? Or i need again to enter them? And why they are disappeared? How to avoid such situation in future?

Thanks

Open random files and use File/File Info and then look on the Raw Data tab to see if the data is in the file or not. Look for entries such as:

        <dc:subject>

            <rdf:Bag>

              <rdf:li>Animal</rdf:li>

              <rdf:li>Animal|Domesticated</rdf:li>

              <rdf:li>Animal|Domesticated|Common Pets</rdf:li>

              <rdf:li>Animal|Domesticated|Common Pets|Cat</rdf:li>

              <rdf:li>Animal|Domesticated|Common Pets|Cat|Kitten</rdf:li>

            </rdf:Bag>

            </rdf:Bag>

        </dc:subject>

If the entries exist, then you may just need to reset the prefs for Bridge and or clear the cache for the current folder/s.

If the entries don’t exist in the files, then you may not have anything to work with.

As to where the Bridge keywords data lives:

Prepression: Bridge – Restoring a Lost Keyword XML File

On the Mac OS, the location of the Adobe Bridge Keywords.xml will be similar to:

/Users/loggedinusername/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CC 2015/Adobe Bridge Keywords.xml

Mac users should simply replace “loggedinusername” and “Bridge CC 2015” with the appropriate user name and version of Bridge.

On MS Windows, the path to the Adobe Bridge Keywords.xml will be similar to:

C:\Users\Loggedinusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CC 2015\Adobe Bridge Keywords.xml

MS Windows users should replace the “Loggedinusername” and “Bridge CC 2015” with the appropriate user name and version of Bridge. It should be noted that the AppData directory may be a hidden folder for some users.
