Lost My edits in Adobe Bridge

Please Help!! I had over 1200 edited photos in Adobe Bridge and when unplugged my external hard drive and then replugged the external hard drive back in, All my edits were gone. Please tell me there is a way to get back these edits. I have all the xmp files to these pictures. Please help!

What version of Bridge, operating system, what kind of files did you edit, and why aren't the XMP files in the same folder with (presumably) the RAW files?

These ARW raw files from a sony camera. I have windows 10 Pro edition, Latest version Bride, and the Xmp files are in the same folder but for some reason I lost about 750 edits out of 1200 pictures edited. Do you have soulutions. I looked everywhere for advice and even called adobe and they could not help me.

If you open them from Photoshop, what happens? Did you rename any of the files?
