Today I updated Bridge to 2025. I was using 2022 because of the newly introduced features were too annoying.
I am very-very sad to experience this SLOOOOOW scrolling speed in EVERY list. This must be some bad taste or lack of understanding among the devs... I tried these:
- Folders
- Images
- Preferences -> File type associations
- Preferences -> Metadata
It seems that in every list one scrolling (a half wheel) scrolls around 2 lines of text which is infuriating. Yet the scrollbars are thin, grabbing with the mouse is another challenge. All these contribute to render these new versions of Bridge counterproductive. Instead of focusing on their work, users are annoyed by these problems which are working well in every other software.
Dear devs, there are some bad default settings in your scrollbar component. This bad setting propagates everywhere, in every list. Just make scrolling 3x faster. by default Please, look at browsers, Windows Explorer, or any other image viewer software and see how should the scrolling work.
There is a setting in Windows for the scroll speed, that thing also should be taken into account.
I have to return to Bridge 2022 yet again.

For real man. What a joke. Every time there is an update of this and PhotoShop - things just get worse and I have to do the inevitable search for solutions. Sorry to tag onto your post without a solution- but I'm hoping when you get one I will be notified. Unbelievable...

I gave 2025 an opporunity to show its new improvements but the poor scrolling/rendering speed is still just awful, back to 2022 I go...
I doubt the Bridge team can fix this... We're 3 versions into the re-write and if it could have been improved then it would have happened by now.

I'm stunned at how slow Bridge 2025 is rendering thumbnails... like 5x as slow as the previous version. Serious problem!

I also don't understand why rendering thumbnails is much slower then I remember was in 2013-2017 on much slower 2011 iMacs.
At that time I could build up the workflow for editors in my company that could quickly browse through thousands of images in the folder and select and tag required images. Now the process of just scrolling through less than 100 images is so slow and jumpy, that I can't use Bridge for efficient workflow of my team. Thumbnails often reload, dissapear then again appear, which stops scrolling and it's not smooth as it was in beta and prerelease versions.
Recent Bridge versions doesn't look like a profeccional tool.

Yes indeed. Every version after 12 has been unusable because of the slow performance of scrolling, culling. So pretty much it's broken for the main thing it's supposed to work as.
I've been in several video meetings with them, showing the broken performance. I've had many email conversations, I've helped them with screenshots, video captures and everything in between. The almost never replies, they only want answers, they never answer my questions. And I pay them for this?
