Searching RAW Metadata in Bridge 2024 - how to see multiple hits

This has been bugging me for a while.

Ages ago in Bridge if I went to a file's File Info/RAW Data and did seach for a word, "Date" for instance, Bridge would highlight all the instances where the "Date" appeared in the data. Pretty sure I could skip to each instance of the word too.

In Bridge 2024 the search just mementarily highlights the first instance of the searched term ... then nothing. I have to visually scan for other instances.

What am I missing???

Thanks!

You're not missing anything.

It's a major design flaw.

Having to copy/paste the text into another app to search for and highlight multiple hits is what I do, but shouldn't have to.

Thanks for the confirmation. I really thought it had to be me ... LOL

What a terrible bug ... yeah I'm going there... given there's a decicated  "Search" Field it couldn't be meant to actually work the way it does! That would be an act of pure spite on the part of the developer.  😉

I guess I live in hope that perhaps an update might adress this shortfall .  It makes my job harder than it should be.

Hi, Lee36533728tdqc. Sorry for the trouble. I'll need more details to help you figure this out.

What version of operating system are you using?

We have released a new version of Bridge 14.1. To update Bridge to 14.1, click "Update" in the Creative Cloud desktop app next to Bridge. More detailed instructions for updating

You may need to update the Creative Cloud application and restart your computer to see the updated installer.

After updating the Bridge still if issue persists try with below steps:

1. In the preference's panel under cache->increase the cache size to max.

2. Check the purge cache that is older than n days. Increase the n value.

3. Automatically Export Cache to a folder when possible.

Thanks,

Shivani

Hi

Thanks for the reply!

I am running Mac OS 14.5, Sonoma on an Intel iMacPro. I am using Bridge 14.1 under my CC account.

Not sure what #3 - "Automatically Export Cache to a folder when possible" is. I might be missing somethng. But I applied the other suggestions which had no effect ( I quit and relaunched Bridge )

When I open an image's "File Info...", select "RAW Data" and search for a word ( eg " Date" ) which I know is in the metadata in severall places, Bridge momentraily highlights the first instance ( in yellow ) , then very quickly reverts to a dark blue/grey highlight. whic is very hard to see. That's it.

How does it work for you?

I think the correct behavior would be to highlight ( yellow ) ALL instances of the search term, then allow a keyboard key to move and scoll between them ( up/down arrows ?)

I'd take the stand and say this is how it used to work.... admittendly a long time ago! I put up with the currentl behavior for a couple of years, but I cant take it anymore!!!!!!!

Thanks for your attention!
