Sony CF Express Cards and Bridge V13

Hi
I recently updated all the adobe photography suite and have been finding that Bridge 13 does not recognise my Sony CF express card reader. It gives an error of E:\ Not found or not supported. I have tried on both my laptop as well as my PC and both give the error.
I have since rolled back the update on my PC and that seems to have worked - I am on 12.0.3 again.
How will I know if this issue is resolved and I can update to v13 again?

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Could you please share the following information to better investigate the issue?
1. Are you facing this issue on Windows?
2. Are you using the auto-play feature to automatically launch PhotoDownloader when you insert a removable drive?
3. How are you connecting your card i.e. through the camera directly or using any card reader (please share card reader details)
Note - Auto-play feature to launch Photo Downloader on Windows when you insert a removable drive has some issues and the team is currently investigating the same.
Thanks,
Bridge Team

Hi
To answer the questions
1. Yes both the PC and the laptop are windows based
2. Yes i think so, I selected the option to use Bridge as the default program when the USB is plugged in with media stored on it. I also tried opening Bridge and getting photos manually but it does not find the card reader.
3. I am using the CF epxress type A card with the Sony CF Express card reader. Up until this update Bridge could read this card reader that i have been using since March this year.
Thanks.

@Pranesh_ZA can you test the previous version again, and confirm that the Photo downloader worked, or if it worked only for browsing? Install a previous version from the Creative Cloud application: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/install-previous-version.html

Hi
Yes I have rolled back to 12.0.03 and have got mixed results. What I am finding is that if i have both photos and videos on the card then Bridge will work and allow the automatic download of the days data. However with just videos on the card, and I am shooting 4K50p video with my Sony A1, the application does not read the files on the card and i have to revert to manually copying the data off the card reader and onto my PC or laptop making sure i follow the file numbering system (date) so that I don't mess up my storage which Bridge nicely manages.

Hello and thank you, yes its PC win 10 and i have been using bridge for many many years and never had this issue with the uploader until this new update, i do not wish to roll back to an older version but i would like this version fixed its really messed up my workflow big time. i also see from other areas of the forum that this problem has affected many others too.

I have also been using Bridge in my workflow rather than LR for years and also find the updates frustrating. I manually copy and past files but the issue with the Sony A1 in particular is that video files and photo files are stored in different root directories on the CF Express card so it is very easy (and I have done this) to just copy photo files across in the DCIM folder and miss the video files in the M4Root folder...

I have the same issue with my Card Reader since updating to Bridge 13 and I'm using a PC running Windows 11 and everything is up to date. Its an issue with both auto launching and manually initiating it, neither works even though the drive is visible in Bridge.
Hopefully the support team identify the issue causing this frustrating issue and issue a a patch shortly.

It might be wise to list the card brand and model, and the reader brand and model. Maybe does it have an influence.

Its a Sandisk CF Express Card Reader and Cared both of which were working perfectly with Bridge 12.

I've already stated it was, try reading what I posted. You seem more interested in having your name/ handle at the forefront of posts which indicates to me you're nothing to do with Adobe and more interested in maintaining your dubious accolade of 'community expert'.

Hi,
The auto-play issue is fixed in the latest patch release #13.0.1.583. Please install and confirm if that fixes the issue.
You can refer to the issues fixed in the patch at the following link https://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/fixed-issues.html
Thanks,
