I am working on a server ( network assisted storage). After importing (RAW) images I star rate them, then edit in camera raw, save as jpgs with camera raw.  After opening an image in a photoshop and saving again, the star rating stops working. It doesn't matter if jpgs are on server or copied to a computer, once images are saved via photoshop, the star rating simply stops working.

I am working on mac and all the softwears are up tp date. I tried all the solutions that I could find in this forum so far

Can anyone help please

Can you post a sample jpg that doesn't work? How are you trying to change the rating (File Info dialog perhaps?) Does Photoshop have proper permissions to work with those files? Can you change anything else (say, add keywords or change the Title in File Info, or open and edit the image)?

Any images that I save. It only started a week or so ago, so it works on my old images. I can't add star rating (in Bridge) via shorcut or menu, can't add keywords either. I can rename,  open, edit and save, but can not add labes, star rating, keywords. It doesn't matter if images are on NAS, computer or coppied to another computer. If I open them in camera raw, I can add star rating, click done and it is saved, but in Bridge, it doesn't work

I can take a picture of a tree and post it to you, I don't undestand how can it matter of what is in a picture. Files are not locked if taht is what you mean about permision

We have no way to see what the problem is without a sample file.

Here is a file. I noticed that if I open my jpegs that have been saved in photoshop on NAS then in bridge star rating isn't working. Hoecer, if the same file I copy to my computer/local files open it in photoshop and then resave it, tehn the star rating (and labeling) is working again. However, if jpeg, taht was created on NAS is just copied to computer (and nothing is nothing done to it in photoshop) then star rating doesn't work. I hope it make sense
