Updated Bridge CC 2018 - Metadata Application is Spotty

Community Beginner ,
Jul 24, 2018 Jul 24, 2018

After updating my Bridge, now when I apply metadata it is hit and miss on files and seems to run slowly. I reapply, and it usually works. I really don't want to be doing this twice. Is there something I can do to fix this? I just updated within the past week.

Thanks,

Monica

Monica, can you please try to save few of these .mov files on your local drive and then try to apply metadata to them?

Hi Monica,

I believe you're referring to the v8.1 update for Bridge.

I'd like to understand what all information are you adding in the metadata panel which is causing the issue here? Also, what is the location of the files on which you're applying the metadata?

Additionally, please confirm me the OS that you're working on.

Regards,

Sheena

Hi Sheena,

I am on macOS High Sierra version 10.13.6. The files I work on are housed on a server (never been an issue before), and I am adding photographer metadata, description, and keywords. I did purge my cache and increased my cache size, and that has helped a bit. I'm afraid to increase it to 500,000, but may try and see what happens.

Thanks,

Monica

Hi Monica,

Can you send me a screen recording of the entire workflow that you're doing here with the issue arising?

It'll help us troubleshoot the issue better.

Regards,

Sheena

So I just realized that it is on the .mov files that I am having issues. Weird thing is, sometimes it takes some of the metadata, and other times it doesn't.
