This is a bug that is well known to Adobe, we are all just waiting for it to be fixed.

 

There is a workaround: in the Photo Downloader window, select the Advanced window

At least this works on my Mac (I'd appreciate the platform for anyone where this doesn't work).

 

In addition, you can uncheck non-photographic files so that you do not have to deal with them on your computer.

And it would be GREAT if this can get fixed.
