I've downloaded the DNG 6.6 ACR update and images still don't open in PS/Bridge.  Does the "Convert to DNG" box need to be checkmarked under Bridge Preferences?

Thanks for helping.

The version that shows in my Photoshop  CS5 Extended V 12.0.4 x 64 > About Plugins >

is Adobe PS Camera Raw 6.4.145

I'm surprised that it's not the Adobe DNG Converter 6..6.6-1d because I downloaded and installed that plugin (after I installed the DNG 6.6 Update) for Mac OS.

I also Purged the Cache.

Yes Bridge Preferences is where I got an option to check "Convert to DNG".

My images show as as a page with the corner turned down.  And the file is   .RW2

Have I messed it all up?  I tried downloading to

Don't know what setting you are revering to, do you mean the Photo downloader?

It seems your camera is supported.

See the support list (under Panasonic) at this page:

http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/extend.html

and read the instructions for a correct ACR plug in install on the ACR page

http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5311

Meanwhile you can check if you have installed the correct version of your ACR plugin and there should be only one version installed.

In Photoshop go to the menu Photoshop / about plugin and look under Camera Raw.

There should be only one version visible and it should say 6.6

I found the answer in converting my images under the DMG Converter which was in my APPs folder.

Thank you so much.

glad this worked for you but according to your given version of ACR you did not update the plug in correctly.

Try using the adobe updater for that, it is under the help menu from either Ps or Bridge and called Updates.

If your update succeeds you can use both the raw and DNG files in Bridge viewing as thumbnails instead of icons.

And if installed correctly the Adobe Photodownloader lets you convert them to DNG also
