I’d like to share some significant issues I’ve been experiencing while using Stager on Apple Silicon-based devices (M2 and M3). Currently, I am working with two Apple devices, both equipped with 8GB of RAM (I understand this might be a limited amount of RAM). However, the issues seem to go far beyond just hardware limitations:
1. File Opening Performance:
•A 500MB total SSG file takes an extremely long time to open, creating a major bottleneck even in the early stages of the project.
2. Rendering Problems:
•When attempting an 8K render with ray tracing enabled, the process never completes.
•Even when I set a time limit for rendering, the output is not saved automatically.
•Selecting “Cancel All” does not terminate the process, and the application becomes unresponsive.
These issues make my user experience quite challenging. While Stager is supposed to be optimized for Apple Silicon, encountering so many problems has brought me to the point of considering discontinuing its use. Although the application offers ease of use, it seems to lack performance and stability on this platform.
I am attaching my log files and system information for your review. I’d greatly appreciate any guidance or solutions you could provide to address these issues.
