Hey guys, I've found a way to fix several of these problems. Well, it worked for me. Hopefully it will work for others.

Problem #1: "Error Account details for this user can only be updated via the site where it was first created."

Solution:

  1. Login to the admin console with the username and password of the e-mail account you are trying to setup.
  2. Hover over the users name to the top right of the screen. "Eric Platt" in my case.
  3. Click on "My Details

Thank you for posting.

When you create an email account, you are asked to enter the email address where you want to receive the activation email. The activation email contains a link to complete the process. When you click the link, it takes you to the page where you can define the password. Please refer to the following screenshot :

I agree with you and this was done (See my address in the field Passord recovery e-mail in my previous post) but I didn't receive the "Password recovery e-mail:" to initiate the password !

I have just received this mail:

I think this account is not correctly created because as I also have to create an  admin account I get this error:

Hey guys, I've found a way to fix several of these problems. Well, it worked for me. Hopefully it will work for others.

Problem #1: "Error Account details for this user can only be updated via the site where it was first created."

Solution:

  1. Login to the admin console with the username and password of the e-mail account you are trying to setup.
  2. Hover over the users name to the top right of the screen. "Eric Platt" in my case.
  3. Click on "My Details

  4. Change the "Default Site" drop down to the site you are using for e-mail.
    Screen Shot 2013-09-27 at 10.26.20 PM.png
  5. Click Save
  6. Try to setup the e-mail account again

Problem #2: No activation e-mail / password setup e-mail

Solution: After you create the e-mail account for a current site admin and you don't (I never did) receive the e-mail it says it sent, do the following.

  1. Login to the admin console with the username and password of the e-mail account you are trying to setup.
  2. Hover over the users name to the top right of the screen. "Eric Platt" in my case.
  3. Click on "My Details (NOTE: You will now have a link for "Web Mail" that works, but that's not the point of this)
  4. Change the password (you can change it back to what it was immediately if you want). This syncs the e-mail password with the admin password.
  5. Now you can login to webmail (mail.YourSite.com) or setup Outlook, Mac Mail, iPhone etc..

Hope this helps others avoid the stress I went through!

I get the same error message ... is there an easier solution than experimenting with "workarounds"? I already contacted Adobe Hotline without success.

Thank you.
