Point email to external host

I have succesfully moved a domain from Hostmonster to Business Catalyst.

However, the client wants to KEEP their email at Hostmonster.

How do I configure this in business catalyst? I can't seem to find a tutorial (that the link still works) on how to do this?

I know I need to change the MX settings. Do I also need to create an A-Record? What steps do I need to take to resolve this?

I appreciate as much detail as possible as I want to completely understand this process for future work.

I really appreciate any help!

Thank you very much! So fast!

One last question, and I apologize if it is "simple". But- for mail.example.com - how should that be set up? Is it mail.hostmoster.com or mail.domainame.com ?

Thanks!

That is a bit of an odd way to do it though.

Your basically pointing all trafix to BC then pointing email back to the original source. Emails will have extra loops basically to go through to get to where they are going.

All you should do from the domain point is point the A Records to BC and keep the email the same there and your sweet. You change the domain info in BC to be external.

So if I am understanding you correctly- LIam- hosting would remain at Hostmonter, and what he would be paying for is simply Business Catalyst's modules and CRM abilities?

He'd pay for hosting at Hostmonster and CRM at BC?
