My boss wants a remember me button on the check out page so repeat customers don't have to fill in the check form over and over again.
He's not too bothered at the moment about having a login page for repeat users but I feel that's best practise.
1st is it normal to have a remember me button at this point. To me it doesn't sound safe saving all your card details through cookies. I feel,it's not best practise and unsafe, would you agree?
2nd Can a remember me button be applied just for the address and name ect fields and not the card details. Is this just a browser feature auto fill or d I have to add anything so this is possible. Again I know it's based on cookies.
Just need to have a good answer for the boss so the discussion can move on.

Hi there.
There is a lot of confusion in that post there. Hopefully I and others can set you on the right path.
Firstly:
BC does not store credit card details in the system for PCI compliance reasons. To even consider storing these in a cookie is down right crazy - Basically no!
A remember me is what you see on a login, it is part of a login to log into an account which stores all the details and information. BC always creates a CRM customer in the system when they interact with a form such as the shopping payment form so you already there for the most part storing details. All you need is the subscribe to the securezone option on the form and set the username and password fields into the form.

Go throw to the checkout and note the login but continue and pay after choosing shipping. You can see the options to register new account and pay or login.
This sort of thing you will see on pretty much any store you go to. This is the right way to do it.
