The following AMD GPUs on Macs running El Capitan are blacklisted in Lr 6.6 because of reported driver issue with El Capitan: Radeon HD: 6330M, 6350M, 6370M, 6430M, 6450M, 6470M, 6490M, 6530M, 6550M, 6570M, 6630M, 6650M, 6730M, 6750M, 6770M, 6830M, 6850M, 6850M, 6870M, 6950M, 6970M, 6990M.
It is reasonable for Lightroom to take the step to blacklist these AMD GPUs until the driver issue is confirmed fixed in an Mac OS X update (see note). If you are sure to take the risk for working with the non...
Only happens on image, no where else. tend to thing its the update. Had been using LR all night and then downloaded the update. Issue occurred only after I downloaded and opened the update. Rest of the screen is fine. Other apps are fine. Only happens in LR. Anyone else having this issue?
OK, will check into that. Just happened after the update, so that is what makes LR suspect. Also happens when you crop your image and click to move around.
i had the same problem, i turned off Graphic Acceleration under Preferences > Performance and it seemed to go away. Never had to do that before. for sure update.

1) when you stop moving the slider and let go of the mouse, does the image still look odd, or only when you're scrubbing? 2) If it still looks odd after you release the mouse, can we get a copy of the raw file and the sidecar with the settings that are looking wonky?
Sliders — Only when mouse is active. Ok on release. Also occurs when you click on the moving the image/recropping. This started after update was installed.
Hi Robert, we still haven't been able to repro. Sounds like getting a raw file with the sidecar with the settings for the file you're having trouble with might be helpful to our team to repro. Would you be able to post one (Creative Cloud/dropbox url, etc).
Wow! Wonder if this is an age factor. My mac is 2011. Will be back later and video the issue. FYI. This issue is not limited to RAW. It's also Tiff, PSD.
Interesting. I am working i n an older catalog I just updated and its not doing this. But was last night on a newer catalog. This catalog is 35 MB. Other catalogs range from 110 to 800MB
1. disabling "Use Graphic Processor" worked like a charm. 2. disable "UGP" and then uninstalled LR and reinstalled and then enable "Use Graphic Processor". I dont know if just uninstalling LR would work, just giving you my process.
I made the same experience. Whenever I hovered over the sliders or I tried to drag them in any direction it dims and lightens and I also get a reduced quality of the image looking as it would have been painted with a fineliner... I switched of graphics acceleration and LR runs like before the update. I now will follow Chris Schwegler in switching off the UGP having already uninstalled LR and am now re-downloading the app. Let's see what happens...
Lightroom updated a couple of days ago and now the screen flashes darker whenever I move a slider in develop module if graphics acceleration is turned on. Adobe really seem to have struggled with hardware acceleration implementation to me 😞 (using OSX El Capitan)
Just updated to RAW 9.5 and Lightroom 6.5 and I'm experiencing the problem in both apps.
Whenever I make a change (exposure, contrast, highlights, blacks etc.) the image flickers. So there's no smooth transition, it just jumps around constantly from bright to dark and back again. It does end up with the correct result once I'm done but it's very difficult to see what I'm actually doing while doing it.
