Camera Raw 12.3 unable to view CR2 files

Hi guys I am using Mac Catalina 10.15 and PS 2020 21.2, and I am unable to pull Raw (CR2) files into photoshop. I receive an error message saying "Photoshop does not recognise this type of file" I was wondering if anyone else has this issue and was able to fix it? (I have uninstalled/reinstalled PS and Camera Raw) I am also shooting on an Canon 80D that is up to date.

I have included a screenshot of the SD card which you can view a small preview on and the error message

Are the Raw CR2 files you're trying to view coming from a Canon 80D? Or another model?

The Canon 80D was first supported by Camera Raw 9.5 so there's no issue with support for those CR2 files

Be aware that the CR2 file format is unique to each camera model so it's important to know which Canon camera model your CR2 files are coming from.

It appears to me that you are attempting to open the image while still in the camera, on the card. Is that correct? The images need to be downloaded to the hard drive so that they can be opened using Camera Raw. Maybe I'm not seeing things correctly.
