Since the latest update, ACR first starts to react very slow mid process and it's impossible to open or save the files. XMP files are not added to my file folder which means I have lost the adjustments on 102 images; a usual amount for me. Working on a MacBook Pro M1 Max 32GB. I encountered the same issue in LR Classic. Please fix this!

Try resetting your ACR preferences, better?

Hold down the Command key and select Photoshop > Preferences > Camera Raw (MacOS) or hold down the Ctrl key and select Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw (Windows).

Click Yes in the dialog that asks "Delete the Camera Raw Preferences?"

Let's hope this will work because it has cost me 2 hours of editing this afternoon. The only preference I had adjusted was the film strip, I can't work with the thing at the bottom so I changed my preferences and added my custom presets to my favorites again.

Unfortunately this did not work. Is there an other setting I can do.

Using camera raw 14.4 now. Still the same problem. I have increased the camera raw cache to 50gb hopes this helps.

 anyone?

Try logging into another account (you may need to make one), still crashing?
Try starting up in Safe mode (hold down Shift Key when booting), still crashing?
You might want to try running a free utility like Onyx: still crashing?

It does not happen all the time. Only when I have finished 100+ opened RAW files in camera raw. When I am done editing the RAW files and want to open them in Photoshop the open button is unresponsive. I can click it but nothing happens. At that moment switching RAW files is not possible either. the preview window stays with the same image.

I have increased the camera raw cache to 50gb in the hope that helps.

Using a MacBook pro 16 inch with an M1 Max processor and 32GB RAM and 1TB of SSD drive.

I would click "Done" and let ACR write the changes to the XMP files.  Then maybe re-open them and then send them to PS?  It sounds like it may just be too much to ask ACR to send 100+ RAW files with edits to PS (if I'm reading your post correctly).  Have you tried with fewer images, like 10?
