Hi
Does anyone know if its possible to write an action within camera raw?
I have a very repetitive task that would be so much easier with an action. I need to select the exposure brush, create a mask using the select people function, invert the mask and then boost the white slider by +80.
Has anyone got any suggestions?
Ideally i dont want to open photoshop. Were selecting in bridge and opening from bridge, photoshop is a bit slow and I need the amends to remain temporary. JPEG files not raw.
thanks Sam

As far as I know, this is not possible.
I don't use Camera Raw, but I use Lightroom Classic, which uses the Camera Raw engine, and it's not possible there.
Maybe be possible with a script or plugin. @Stephen Marsh might have something to add.

Actions are for inside Photoshop.
ACR is prior to Photoshop, it uses a different approach.
Have you tried to create a preset in ACR?
The Camera Raw filter in Photoshop is another option, but if you don't want to open files in Photoshop then it's not an option.

Thanks for getting back to me, I thought that might of been the answer. The preset wont activate teh ai people mask settting which is what I want to automate. Sam

Coud this be taken care of by combining AI masks and Sync Settings/Copy and Paste Settings? I ask because AI masks, such as People masks, auto-adapt to images they are synced to. If it works, it would work like this:
1. On a sample image, such as the first in a set, create a People mask, and invert it.
2. With that mask selected, increase Whites by +80.
3. Select any number of other images.
4. Use the Sync Settings or Copy/Paste settings command to apply the same mask to the other images.
Because the People mask is an AI mask, if the person is easy enough for the AI to identify in the other images, Camera Raw will use AI to automatically adapt the people mask to the shapes of the people detected in the other images.
Is there a reason you need to use a brush adjustment at all? The problem with the brush is that it’s manually painted, so it will not adapt to changing content positions in other images. But the AI-based object and people masks should auto-adapt, reducing or (if you’re lucky) eliminating the need to manually paint anything.
If it works, and if you do this a lot, you want to save that mask as part of a preset, so that in the future, you would only have to select a bunch of photos in Camera Raw and apply that mask preset, and if the AI People mask auto-adapts reliably, you’re done.
The preset wont activate teh ai people mask settting which is what I want to automate.

It should have worked. How did you set up the preset with the mask? It worked when I tried a test preset with a People mask in it.
