Camera raw ENTER goes to photoshop

When editing in camera raw and hitting Enter it send me to photoshop to edit.  You must wait for photoshop to load before you can X out and go back to your regularly scheduled editing session.  How do I disable or change this?

Enter is the same as clicking on the "Open" button which tells ACR, to render the raw and those edits, open in Photoshop. 

The answer is, don't click Enter if you don't want to open the rendered image in Photoshop.

Enter has other functions such as confirming edits in order to continue with other edits.  Press one too many times and it performs the PITA mentioned above.  Helpful comments would be helpful.

When you tell ACR you want to take the raw and render it with the edits, you click Open or Enter (or optionally Done) and Open/Enter which as explained does exactly what you don't like but is by design. No, you can't disable that any more than clicking on Open would provide the same function as clicking on Done.

There are a few modes when Enter is used to confirm user input (Click in any text entry area to enter specific numeric values, confirm a crop), but once that's set, Enter key provides the same functionality as Open, it opens the image in PS.

Again, the solution outside these few modes is, don't press Enter one too many times. 🤔

I agree with you, enter opening in Photoshop is not intuitive, not helpful and annoying. Should be an option to disable Adobe.
