Camera Raw stopped working in Adobe Photoshop & Bridge: Help?

I'm working in Adobe Bridge 2020 and started noticing a lot of lag in opening my NEF files that I shot on an Nikon D850. (Anywhere from 10 seconds to 35 seconds just to open a single raw image.) Then, I get a notification alerting me that "Camera Raw cannot open this file". I had been working in Adobe Bridge & Photoshop 2018 when lag started occurring last week and then suddenly I could not open any of my raw photos. I had no other problems with opening raw photos at all with the current software and plug-ins, it just randomly happened. So, IT had me update to the Adobe 2020 software suite and camera raw 13 plug-in.

But now it's happening again to where I cannot open my raw photos. What versions of camera raw plugs are most compatible with a NikonD850? And would downgrading to Adobe Photoshop and Bridge 2019 help my situation? Or any info on how to resolve this?

There isn't a version of Camera Raw that would be "more" compatible than another. Either it supports your camera model or it doesn't. I just downloaded a sample NEF file from a D850. I'm using the latest version of Camera Raw on an old HP Pavilion desktop. The file opened just fine. Computer didn't crash, didn't freeze. Without knowing the specs of your computer system it's difficult to even suggest what the issue might be.
