Camera RAW - The operation could not be completed

Hello, I could use some help! Since updating to PS 22, I can no longer use Camera Raw. It just hangs there and fails to open. Trying to turn off GPU on Camera Raw Prefs gives off the message "The operation could not be completed" and crashes the program while trying to open Camera Raw.

I have since tried to:

1) Uninstall, delete preferences, reinstall.

2) Run memory check software (all clear).

3) Repair Windows (restorehealth, chkdsk, Windows bootable repair).

4) Update video driver.

5) Install Bridge (also crashes).

I have no antivirus installed, just Windows defender.

Had no problems using Photoshop 2021. I'm completely out of ideas. Anyone?

OS: Windows 10 Pro

GPU: Nvidia RTX 2080

Try resetting the Camera Raw preferences:
Hold down the Command key and select Photoshop > Preferences > Camera Raw (macOS) or hold down the Ctrl key and select Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw (Windows).
Click Yes in the dialog that asks "Delete the Camera Raw Preferences?"

Thank you. Unfortunately, the same thing still happens.

After resetting my preferences, I clik on Camera Raw, the icon spins for a while, the HD light blinks and then nothing happens. I can continue using PS as long as I use GPU or Auto. If I switch them off and try again, Photoshop crashes. "Operation could not be completed."

Since my hardware is okay I can only guess my Window installation got corrupted somehow.

If you get a crash log, be useful to send to Adobe.

Were you able to find a solution to this? I haven't been able to use camera raw in forever!

Yes, it turns out I had a sector in my SSD. Causes all sorts of problems in the long run with drivers malfunctioning and GPU misbehaving. I eventually had to switch to another drive, do a fresh installation and everything is now working normally. So it wasn't Camera Raw but failing hardware symptoms.

Also of note, being more careful with enabling UEFI mode and installing on a GPT partition instead of using Legacy formats also prevented my storage drivers from deteriorating over time.
