See: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/release-note/update.html
The last build for Elements is: 20211214.Git.dot.221c6b7
Did you try manually removing the older version then update?
You may need to download the last build of the DNG converter and convert those Sony raws in the meantime.

I am being told by Adobe Support that the new 2022 version of Photoshop Elements will not receive the update of the already in place Camera Raw 14.1. Yet read the first part of this link and it says automatic updates. I have the new Sony A7IV and cannot download the files as does not recognize them. I bought this program believing the 2022 upgrade from what I had (the older 2018 )would work with my new camera and lenses. It is a total disaster downloading and coverting to DNG and keeping files organized. Adobe you really dropped the ball here
with what appears to be false claims and advertising. Not sure what my options are but totally disappointed and angry.

I have tried it multiple times today with no luck.. Deleted installer then down loaded 14.1 camera raw again. I seem to have creative cloud program on my computer that keeps sending me updates but I have never intentionally wanted that. It shows this with camera raw 14.1 listed and Adobe acrobat DC
I have added some topaz programs to the plugins as well to elements 2022 and they work under the filters optoin..
The file I am copying from step 7 is dated Dec 1 and not matter how many times I have downloaded new version replaced it it stays same.
In the final location it says updated Dec 26 which is the day of my first attempt. Does not show more recent attempts like multiple today.
Should I delete all the topaz programs from my desktop for the moment. Or delete the new elements 2022 and start again . I will try and post this on the Adobe forum as photos from my iPad. .

Before you copy the Camera Raw 8bi from
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats
move the Camera Raw 8bi in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 20\File Formats
to your desktop
then copy and paste the Camera Raw 8bi from
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats
to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 20\File Formats
if that works then you can put the Camera Raw 8bi on your desktop in the Recycle Bin.
