I am also having problems with Camera Raw freezing when making adjustments to an image. The last time I tried to make an adjustment, after restarting my computer, my entire display turned completely red!
I'm having the exact same problem. I just installed the 13.1 update and immediately it started freezing when trying to edit photos. I did find, luckily, that if I go into Photoshop->Preferences->CameraRAW->Performance and set Use Graphics Processor to OFF it works fine. It's slow as molasses, but at least it works. It seems 13.1 has a bug in the hardware acceleration code that's causing it to freeze up every time.
