DO NOT JOIN WITH A PANEL RELATED THREAD (ex. this). Thx! It's a totally different thing.

Version of the app: Camera Raw 16.0

Platform and OS version: Windows 10 x64

Basic steps to reproduce the problem:

  1. Open a RAW file in Camera Raw.
  2. Activate "Healing" mode (press "B" or click on the icon). (or any other mode except the Masking mode)

  3. Press Ctrl+1 (on Windows) to switch to the first tab in the edit mode.
  4. The edit mode is activated and Color Panel displayed. This is expected.
  5. Activate the Masking mode (press M or click on the icon)

  6. Press Ctrl+1 (on Windows) - nothing happens. Also nothing happens for Ctrl+2, Ctrl+3, etc.

Expected result: after pressing Ctrl+1 (on Windows) the Edit mode is activated and Color Panel displayed.

This was working as expected in previous versions of Camera Raw.

From Camera Raw Engineering:

This is not a bug and an artifact of the panel reconfiguration.  Please use the information provided below.

"If you want to return to the Edit Stack panels when in masking, you can press ‘E’ to return there.  The open/close states of the Edit Stack panels will be the same as the last time the user left it as."

I can confirm your observations using ACR 16 on Windows 11 PC.

The confusion with the panels issue is about there now being too many panels for the Ctrl+number shortcuts to work for all panels.

You are quite correct that the issue you have highlighted is different.

Previous comments about this have been merged into the incorrect thread so it seems appropriate to begin again.

I'm sorry, but this is clearly a regression. It worked in all previous versions of Camera Raw. Please fix the artifact of the panel reconfiguration (what does this exactly mean?) and keep the keyboard shortcut working, as it previous versions. I'm not happy with having to use one additional keystroke to switch to a particular panel in the Edit mode - it was not needed in the past.

Moreover Ctrl+1 works as expected in all other modes but the masking mode, which provides inconsistent user experience.

Please reconsider treating this issue as a bug. Thank you!
