Downloaded zip file CameraRaw win 10.5. In fact I've installed it twice . But I cannot find the program on my PC. I've done multiple searches for the program but to no avail.
I've loaded it in the past onto other PCs without any difficulty. The program apparently took a ride on the Enterprise's transporter and rode off into oblivion. Proof once again that the most simple operations can go afoul. I'm hoping that I'll get some help.Thank you. Dave
Looking at the path you posted, it would appear you are using Photoshop CS3. If that is the case then you can't use Camera Raw 10.5. It isn't compatible, Photoshop won't recognize it. It's no wonder you can't load it. The highest version of Camera Raw you can use is version 4.6. Maybe I'm assuming too much here.

In your browser settings you should be able to configure were downloads are automatically stored. Additionally, you should be able to have your browser configured to prompt you were you want the download could be saved. This is what the configuration looks like in My Chrome settings under the advanced settings.

Jim,
Too bad that I seem to not be able to reply on line. At least it isn't
apparent to me. It never is with any 'community help' for some reason.
Just trying to post a question takes a herculean effort.
That said, I have my downloads, including the afore mentioned zip file,
directed to my Desktop but this unzip file _doesn't give me any
option_ whatsoever. It just sticks the unzipped file in the ozone some
place.
And don't downloads directed from a browser just work for what you down
load on the browser? Are you suggesting that perhaps I should download
the unzipped file to ... where? to unzip. But then the dang thing will
still send the unpacked program to god knows where. I NEVER had this
problem before.
If you can provide further guidance, I'd appreciate it, Jim.
Thank you.
Dave

OK. Looking elsewhere (Adobe doesn't make anything ease!) I was
instructed to download the plug-in (an 8bi extension) in the Adobe PS
Plug-in folder, which I did. I apparently need another program to open
this 8bi zip contents. Guess what? It too is an 8bi extension. This is
totally nuts. I never had all these hoops to jump through. NOW what do I
do? Thanks. Dave

Here is what I have. I have CameraRaw_10.5_win.exe located
in C;\Program Files (86)>Adobe>Adobe Photoshop CS3>Plig-ins.
I STILL need a program (that isn't 8bi !!) to down load to open and
install the unzipped CR10.5 win.exe (Opening it is an 8bi extension
which requires software to open this 8bi program.
Again this is nuts.
Please, help me out of this endless quagmire. It would be much
appreciated. Thanks.

That exe file is an installer that when you run it should install the 8bi in its appropriate folder. But can't you just installed Camera Raw from the Creative Cloud application manager? It should just install Camera Raw automatically.

Jeffrey,
No. You're dead on actually. NOW I have to find ACR 4.6. I was able to
use 6-poimt something before but that must have been a fluke.
Thanks for verification.
