Hi.
I am using the latest ACR 9.12 but this happens for very long time... I used 7D Mark II, 6D and 5D Mark IV to verify this.
When I use only the EF 300mm and I check the Enable Lens Corrections box, automatically ACR detects the lens and puts Make, Model and Profile fields accordingly.
But when I use Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II in combination with TC 1.4x III or TC 2x III, ACR does not detect them. I need to change manually the Make to Canon, but the behaviour is different for each set when I change the maker:
EF300 + TC 1.4x
Setup: Custom
Model: Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM + 1.4x
Profile: Adobe (Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM + 1.4x)
It is OK.
EF300 + TC 2x
Setup: Custom
Model: Canon EF 600 f/4 L IS USM
Profile: Adobe (Canon EF 600 f/4 L IS USM)
It is wrong. And I need to change manually Model to Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM + 2x
Thank you.

What does the actual camera data show in the raw data info? Is you camera recording that you're using those converters?

If it's in the raw file, ACR should pick that up. Looks like a bug.

It would be helpful if you could post sample raw files that we can use to investigate the matching issue. You can use a service like DropBox or similar.

I took three photos and put them in WeTransfer: https://we.tl/GM7aOLQDNy
Even using the lastest DNG Converter, the DNG files have the same symptoms. The lens profiles are not identified.
Thank you,
Marco

Yep, I'm getting the same thing with the latest version of ACR. I also check the xmp info, and the correct info is there, so ACR should be able to pick that up.

I checked other thing now. Once I borrowed a EF 500 mm f/4L IS II from a friend and used it with 1.4x and 2x TC. The wrong behaviour happens to the Lens Profile too.

OK. I think I know what the issue is.
When the profiles were made, the camera model used was a bit older than the models mentioned above. The EXIF lens names recorded by that older model did not include the "III" for the extenders. I need to confirm that the extenders used were the Mark III versions (I think they were). Unfortunately, I am currently on business-related travel and do not have access to them until later next week.
If I am correct, the fix will be to correct the lens names in the profiles (plus an alternate name for older models like the one used to make the calibration images). Short story, there likely will not be a fix until at least later this year due to scheduling restraints. Sorry I cannot be more specific.
One way to workaround this for now is to take an image made with each of the extenders, manually select the correct profile in the Lens Corrections panel, and set a new Lens Profile Default. This will give Camera Raw a hint to automatically select the correct profile when encountering similar images with the same EXIF lens names. The defaults can later be reset/cleared once an official fix is available.
Thanks for reporting this and thanks for your patience.
Regards,
- Chris
