masks disappears after pressing done

hello,

Sometimes after opening and editing (Masking and changing color)  of a  jpg in camera raw and pressing "done" the changes are not saved.

Why does this happen?

And are you changing the color with the Hue slider?

Choosing [Done] after editing an image in ACR only 'saves' the editing metadata into and within the edited JPG file. You will only see these edits in ACR or Photoshop.

You must [Open] in Photoshop to 'Save' and apply the edits so the JPG appears as edited in other apps. (eg. File Explorer)

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 14.4, Photoshop 26.8, ACR 17.4, Lightroom 8.4, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 15.1.0 .

hello,

let me explain my prosses,

I open a JPG in ACR, mask the object with a brush, change its color and then save the JPG as a new JPG.

Afterwards I press "done" (so that the mask can be saved in ACR because I may need to reopen the JPG and change the color again) But when I try to reopen the JPG in ACR there is no mask, like it was never created.

Yes im im using the hue slider but also the other options under light ,color, etc.

What Rob said but to add:

Done saves the metadata edits. Open that document in Camera Raw or Lightroom and you see the metadata edits but they have to be rendered to the original pixels using the ACR engine. Open anywhere else and the edits are not seen. Open with ACR renders the two; you now see the edits applied. Save a new iteration (or just save). Everything is applied and of course saved.
