Option and shift click functions stopped working in ACR

Recently, the option click to reset and the shift click to set the Auto value have stopped working in ACR (Mac).  Now when I hold down the option key, the "Reset" part at the top of the panel no longer appears.  Of course I can reset each slider by double clicking on the arrow on each slider, but it's much slower that way.  Also the shift-click on the slider title to set the auto value is not working.

Any ideas?

Mystery solved.  It's actually nothing to do with Adobe at all!  The LoginWindow process on my mac had enabled "Secure Input", which prevents other applications from processing keystrokes correctly.  I only noticed it in ACR as that's really the only application where I do much Option or Shift click activity.

Try resetting your ACR preferences, better?

Hold down the Command key and select Photoshop > Preferences > Camera Raw (MacOS*) or hold down the Ctrl key and select Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw (Windows).

Click Yes in the dialog that asks "Delete the Camera Raw Preferences?"

*On Ventura, it is now called "Settings".
