P: Beta Feature in Camera Raw 14.0 releasing at MAX 2021 - Preset Amount Slider Feedback Thread

The Preset Amount slider is a new beta feature in Camera Raw 14.0 releasing at MAX 2021.

To try the effect, use the Preset panel to apply a preset to a photo, then adjust the slider to reduce or amplify the effect of that preset.

The 'beta' label means that the feature is still under development. Please use this forum thread to provide feedback about this feature.

Thank you!

Make certain your preset has the "Support Amount Slider" checked in Advanced Settings.

Thanks for the response!  So basically if you have any old presets ( using camera raw) and you want to control the intensity you can right-click on the old one, create preset, name it, and select ''support amount slider'', boom, done!

Rikk - This update should just work with your exsisting presets. The first problem with this is I have 100 presets and I have to now make new presets for each of them?  That nuts.  Please tell developers to make this work with our exsiting presets in the next update.  Thank you.

This is the best new feature ever, please do this in a way that we dont have to restore all old personal presets all over again, it would be amazing that slider would work straight up in old ones !

Yes, if we didn't have to create new presests for this to work the would be ideal. I have a ton of presets. Also, will this be added to Lightroom? That would be awesome. Right now I'm using a third party plug-in in Lightroom to do something similar but built in feature would be best. Thanks!

Maybe this is considered spam since I have no real insight, but I have always wanted this feature, it works perfeclty for me already, and I've never been happier in my life.

Looks like the only thing different between a Preset without the Amount Slider and one with is ONE line in the preset.

Just use a text editor and change False to True

Bob - Thanks for insight.  Can you give a little more information about finding the text editor on a Mac for this and the process to find the line we need to change.  Thank you.

I did it in BBEdit but I just tried using the Mac Built in TextEdit app and it worked fine.  The line is right below the UUID line in the one I played with and it is 8 lines down from the top but it might not always be there.  Right click the preset and select Open With and choose TextEdit.  Depending on your TextEdit preferences this may not work although mine are at default and it worked fine.  I never use it as I use BBEdit.

The more I think about this, if you update a really OLD preset you might have to ADD that whole line right below UUID.   crs:SupportsAmount="True" if doesnt exist

@AlinPurcaroiu

Unfortunately that won't work.  For instance if you have a preset that ONLY had exposure included and you simply right-click, create preset the dialog that opens will have ALL the info selected and an incorrect preset will be created that will zero out or change other settings.

Or in my case, many if not all the old ones. YMMV it seems.

Love it, but please update our existing presets.
I have tons of presets and don't want to create a copy of each.
