P: Lens Profile requests and information

Lens Profiles apply to Camera Raw, Lightroom Classic, and the Lightroom Ecosystem products (Desktop, Mobile, and Web).

Lens Profiles are available for a wide array of lenses. Not every lens is currently profiled, and of those profiled, not all are profiled for all camera and file types. For example, there may be a profile for a particular lens and camera mount for the raw file but not for the JPEG. Normally, profiles for JPEG are not supplied unless the camera does not apply a correction (e.g. iPhone, GoPro).

A complete list of profiled lenses can be found here: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/supported-lenses.html
other helpful info: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/lens-profile-support.html#Supported_lenses

Lens correction for all Micro 4/3 (MFT) lenses and many newer cameras, including Panasonic and Olympus cameras, and other cameras (including Fuji X,  Leica Q, and Nikon Z series)plus many point-and-shoot models from Canon) happens automatically without any interaction by the customer. A notation will appear in the Lens Correction Panel designating this.

Note: You should not expect to find any profiles listed in the pop-up notes, because the corrections are always applied.

If you are unsure whether your lens is supported automatically refer to the "info" button/icon on the Lens Corrections tab.

If your lens is not on the supported lens list and is not one of those whose correction happens automatically, you can create your own profiles using the Adobe Lens Profile Creator. Download the Adobe Lens Profile Creator: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/digital-negative.html#resources

If you desire an Adobe-created Lens Profile, please make your request in the comments of this thread, and be sure to include the full lens model/description and the camera mount you are desiring. ETAs for new lens profiles are not available.

Keep in mind that lens profiles cannot be made for tilt/shift lenses. There is no way to record the tilt or shift settings in the Exif data. A feature request exists here for Tilt-Shift Lens Profiles: https://community.adobe.com/t5/camera-raw-ideas/p-lens-profiles-for-tilt-shift-lens/idi-p/12221166

Note: The Lens Profile Creator is currently supported for Windows and 32-bit Versions of the Mac OS.

ETAs are not available for any lens request.

I was wondering if you could make a lens profile of DJI Phantom 4 RTK camera “FC6310R” for jpg format.

It would be great if Adobe could profile the Nikkor 20-35mm f2.8 D lens

Many thanks!

Why does LR Classic don't have lens correction for Nikon Z mount lenses. Not good at all.

Please include them Adobe!

The lens corrections for Nikon Z lenses are done in the camera. Very good! No need for LrC to perform lens corrections. Great job Adobe.

Nikon embeds its own lens profiles directly in the raws. For older Z models, LR applies the profile automatically (per Nikon's requirements) and on new models, you can enable or disable the profiles:

Years of requests and still no Fujifilm Lens corrections?

No Fujifilm camera profiles in sight.

Is it this hard, Adobe?

In my test catalog containing raws from 33 different Fuji models with 27 different lenses, nearly all of them have lens profiles. If you have camera/lens combinations that don't appear to have profiles, please provide screenshots similar to the ones below showing the Lens Correction panel and the info display (type "i") showing the file name, the camera, and the lens (configure the info display with View > View Options).

Details

Most of the Fuji camera/lens combinations embed the profiles in the raws, while the oldest camera has lens profiles provided by Adobe. I found only a few combinations of older models and lenses that didn't have any lens profile (e.g. X-A2 - 2015, X-T2 - 2016, X-T3 - 2018, X-T100 - 2018, XF-10 - 2018). For the X-T2, two lenses had embedded profiles, two didn't.  For the X-T100, one lens had an embedded profile, one didn't.

For the newer cameras, the Lens Corrections panel shows embedded profiles as Profile: Camera Settings, and Fuji lets you disable them if you'd like:

johnrellis_0-1688308015728.png

For somewhat older cameras, Lens Corrections panel shows the embedded profiles have been automatically applied, and Fuji won't let you disable them:

johnrellis_1-1688308175174.png

And the oldest camera (X100T - 2014) had Adobe-supplied profiles:

Hello. I wish they would add the profile of the Tamron 17-70mm f2.8 lens for Fujifilm X mount. That would solve the terrible ring vignetting effect.

Adobe can't provide lens profiles for Fuji cameras beyond using the optics correction that Fuji cameras write in .RAF files... the reason is very very simple... Fuji does not provide focusing distance information available for a raw converter  -> nobody can make lens profiles w/o providing in UI an option for a user to enter manually what he/she/them/it thinks was the focusing distance... granted for lenses like long tele that might be just one set of corrections is enough and raw converter can assume focusing distance = infinity and skip that user selection in UI .. but for something like 17-70 that approach does not work... blame Fuji first ( if embedded optics corrections is not enough OR absent ) then Adobe needs to mod UI in ACR/LR and provide an option for a user to manually enter focusing distance ( or always assume just some one distance - that works for long tele or superbly optically corrected lenses only )

Thanks for your reply. Adobe has a profile for the Tamron 17-70mm for Sony, but not for the same lens for Fujifilm. However, it gives an error when reading the profile of the camera+lens, which produces a horrible effect and I'm waiting for a solution.

I'd like to suggest adding a lens profile for the new Voigtlander 55 mm / 1:1.2 Nokton SL II s

I think it's an amazing lens and it should be definitely supported

Thanks

"Samyang AF 24mm F1,8 for Sony FE on Sony a6400"

In Develop, go to the Lens Corrections panel -- do you see "Built-in Lens Profile applied"?  The Sony a7R IV (another mirrorless camera) will embed the profile for that the lens in its raws, and LR will automatically apply that profile:

That sounds like a complaint for Sony, since it's their profile.

No, this isn't meant to be a complaint, just a wish that either Samyang or Adobe could provide a profile for Lightroom. I would be happy about that! If Sony want to do that, that would be great too!

Sony + Samyang provide the full set of optics correction  - it is Adobe who does not apply all data available to them
