HEIC files can already be opened in Photoshop assuming the correct codecs are in place (and also in the Mac version of Camera Raw).
It was supported in previous versions of Camera Raw.
I spend a lot of time encouraging photographers to have a common workflow, no matter what the source of their image files.
Given the ever increasing use of phone cameras to produce image files, losing this functionality really doesn't help encourage the use of Camera Raw and Photoshop.

I am having no issue opening Heic in Camera Raw on Windows 10 (CR 14.5). What happens when you try?

I am running Windows 11, but I doubt the OS version is the issue. Bridge is version 12.0.3.270, Camera Raw 14.5
Right clicking on a heic image only gives the option to open in Photoshop. On the File menu the Open in Camera Raw is greyed out. There is no option to open in Camera Raw from File Explorer, just Photoshop (or other photo apps).
Camera Raw preferences, file handling makes no mention of heic (unlike the Mac version).
In a seperate post it was confirmed to me that heic was not supported in the current Windows version of the Camera Raw plugin and it was suggested that I post here to establish whther there was support for restoring this feature.
I would be interested to know how you are opening heic files in the current version of Camera Raw.
