Stuck in Camera Raw Filter

So, as one community expert said to an unsolved problem, that it was solved and we should make a new post and locked the old one, I am making another, which will again be in vain as there is no way this will be solved, but let's try anyway, shall we?

Mac OS 12.5.1, M1 iMac

Photoshop 24.1

Camera RAW 15.1.1

while trying to use ACR filter on a smart object, it gets stuck with this:

Clicking the cancel button on this progress bar dialog does nothing (makes the OS error sound), actions in the Camera Raw dialog dont work as everything is greyed out and this window does not have focus.

Tips and suggestions mentioned in previous thread DO NOT WORK and it started happening only a few days ago, on the newest photoshop and camera raw.

Try resetting your ACR preferences, better?

Hold down the Command key and select Photoshop > Preferences > Camera Raw (macOS) or hold down the Ctrl key and select Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw (Windows).

Click Yes in the dialog that asks "Delete the Camera Raw Preferences?"

If that does not work:

Try logging into another user account (you may need to make one), still crashing?

Try starting up in Safe mode (hold down Shift Key when booting), still crashing?

You might want to try running a free utility like Onyx: still crashing?

Nothing you mentioned will help with that, as finally, the culprit decided to show up.

Resetting ACR will did nothing.

I am not touching onyx as I have no idea what to do with it.

M1 Mac does not have NVRAM and SMC reset option.

And creating a new account and safe mode are not going to change the splash screen you see on the screenshot behind the stuck loading.

So after a few tries I got to click on the window, yet issue persists. The worst part is it's just too random to recreate reliably. Tried disabling GPU acceleration in ACR after I saw some messages:

So far it worked and when I turned it back on it got stuck again. It gets stuck in aroung 70-80%

I'm on an M1 Mac too (16" MBP/64GB), no issues.

If in the same menu area, you select GPU, what do you see, does it look anything like this:

Yup, it's the same, all green.

The thing is, it started just a few days ago. With no issues before that.

Why not try using Adobe Creative Cloud, and uninstall Photoshop (ideally, don't keep preferences, so make screen shots). Then use it again to reinstall Photoshop (and it will do so with Adobe Camera Raw). Better?

The problem went away for some time actually, on its' own.

But after the latest update with AI denoise, it started again. Already tried uninstalling also with AppCleaner, installing older version, but nothing helped. Sometimes it happens right away, sometimes I can work normally. There is no pattern.

Also, as you locked the thread with ACR on windows being laggy due to "weak GPU" - I tried ACR on macbook from 2014 with intel graphics and it's smooth scrolling.

This is still an issue - I just updated (finally) from Phototoshop 2022 to 2023 since I'm in a managed software situation, and sure enough the moment I move to another application while in the middle of using Camera Raw it happens. A moment ago it even happened because an annoying dialogue box from another application popped up - and bingo, stuck in Camera Raw with 10+ Photoshop documents open that will become "Recovered" after force-quitting. Resetting preferences isn't a solution - this is literally happening across multiple years of product editions.
