Hi
I wonder how I can open my NEF-files in my old CS4. I have since 2012worked in creative cloud but I have now retirered and thought I could use my old CS4 I bought in 2009. Everything works all wright except from opening the NEF-files from my Nikon D5000.I did open them in my CS4 in 2011
How do I uppdate the reading of NEF-files in CS4? I have tried with later versions of Cameroon Raw but I believe they are too modern for the CS4. Where do I find the upgrade Camera raw 5.7.

You can get the 5.7 camera raw plugin from here:

Camera Raw 5.7 won't work, you need at least version 9.5.
Your only option (apart from subscribing to the Photography Plan, which includes the latest version of Photoshop and Camera Raw) is to use the free Adobe DNG converter, which will convert copies of your NEF files to DNG files that can be opened in CS4.
https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/using/adobe-dng-converter.html
Read the instructions carefully. You will need to set Compatibility to Camera Raw 5.4 and later in Preferences.
Note that the DNG converter requires Windows 10 or later.

If camera Raw 5.7 does support your camera, it's fine, as that is the last version supported with Photoshop CS4.
Alternatively, you can use the DNG converter for converting newer RAW file formats into DNG. DNG is supported by all Camera RAW versions that I know about.
Alternatively, you could consider the Photography plan for about 10 bucks/month. The software Photoshop and Lightroom/Camera Raw have made huge progress since Photoshop CS4. I wouldn't like to go back.
(and yes, I know, CS4 may be enough for you, and that is fine for me too).

You will need to use the dng converter, as your camera requires Camera Raw 9.5.

Fiddekulla,
Can you verify whether you have the Nikon D5000 or D500?
What operating system are you using?
