Is it possible to open arw files from the sony ar7 iii in lightroom 5?

Not without help in the form of the Adobe DNG Converter to convert the ARW files into dng copies, which can then be opened in Lightroom 5.
The Sony A7R III require Lightroom 6.14 or later if ypu don't want to use the dng converter.
