Everytime I use Camera Raw to do noise reduction it crashes and the whole program shuts down and I lose all my work and have to start over.

It's happened several times and sent several crash reports and nothing's changed. Now I have to remember to save everything I've done before opening Camera Raw for fear of losing it all. If I forget, I'm screwed and will lose everything, every time.

If your software update isn't stable then it ought not be released. This makes me angry beyond belief!

How do I install an older version that actually works like its supposed to?

Let me guess...

I can't! I'm stuck paying for this piece of...well...software...that doesn't work like it's supposed to and wastes my time.

Maybe it's time to start looking for alternatives.

1. Check GPU settings (on or off) and try a different setting. This is found in preferences.

2. Try trashing your Photoshop preferences. Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop. You will be prompted to delete the current settings.

(Mac OS only) Open the Preferences folder in the Library folder, and drag the Adobe Photoshop CS Settings folder to the Trash.

This action only affects the items found in the preferences dialog box. Numerous program settings are stored in the Adobe Photoshop Preferences file, including general display options, file-saving options, performance options, cursor options, transparency options, type options, and options for plug‑ins and scratch disks. Brushes (and lots of other setting) are not affected by the above instructions for deleting preferences. You may wish to make a screen capture of the settings in the Preferences dialog to reset them prior to deleting of this file.
