Sorry for the misunderstanding.

You didn't make it clear you already had a subscription to photoshop cc.

Anyhow, here are the installers for camera raw 8.8

mac

http://swupdl.adobe.com/updates/oobe/aam20/mac/PhotoshopCameraRaw8-8.0/8.8.70/setup.dmg

windows

http://swupdl.adobe.com/updates/oobe/aam20/win/PhotoshopCameraRaw8-8.0/8.8.70/setup.zip

ACPs do not work for adobe. We are just forum volunteers.

Adobe employees have a Red Staff badge.

I am interested in what is different about the Auto setting in 8.8

I’ll use any version of photoshop, it doesn’t matter. I’m on a Mac and the raw files I’m working on were shot on a CanonGX1, shouldn’t matter though. Please help with finding me Camera Raw 8.8. Thank you

Hi Anthony,

It does make a difference. If you are using the Photoshop with CS6, if you download the latest version of ACR it will not work. If you are using a very old copy of Photoshop, than support for that version of PS is no longer available. If you are using the most recent version you could simply download the latest ACR via the Adobe Creative Cloud app and you'd be good. If you are using a pirate copy of Photoshop, there's not much help that anyone here can supply.

So yes it does make a difference.

So what version of PS are you using?

It shows you the various options one can select from to get get Photoshop (and Lightroom). Do you really think an Adobe forum is the place to look for free copies of Photoshop. Photoshop 2014 is no longer available anywhere. You can download a copy of the current version of PS right now from the site I just linked you and you can deal with your raw images.

If you have any questions on how to use PS-CC 2018 we'll be glad to help.

Gary,

Please don't be a fool. You are misunderstanding my minor request. I said

nothing about free copies of Photoshop. The link you sent me is highly

accessible for anyone that knows how to use the internet. Regardless, I

already have an account with Adobe and am paying a monthly subscription. I

hope you do not work for Adobe, as you are terribly misinformed. Photoshop

2014 is available under my creative cloud along with many other versions,

I've attached a screen shot. This is besides the point though, as I am less

concerned with what version of photoshop I'm using and more concerned with

having Camera Raw Version 8.8. Whatever Photoshop is required to use that

version of camera raw I would be willing to use. If you cannot provide me a

way to download Camera Raw Version 8.8 or a version that has identical Auto

settings as 8.8, please let me know now so we can end the conversation.

Although, if you do work for Adobe, this request should be an extremely

simple matter for the company to handle. After speaking and chatting with

several Adobe agents in India, nobody was able to resolve my request. They

ended up referring me to the forum as a place I could get a more informed

answer. Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the case. Through my

creative cloud, I was able to pull up Camera Raw 8.0 (see attached), and

online the oldest version that seems to be offered is version 9.1.1. So

what about 8.8? It has to be accessible!

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me. I hope you both can see this response.

Please see the attached screen shot, as the link you sent me Jeff looks

like it would work, but it is not working. Please help, we are getting

warmer. As for why I need this version of ACR it's because I need to

replicate many photographic prints that were printed using a file that was

processed through camera raw 8.8. The only editing i did to the file in

camera raw was select "auto" on the white balance and "auto" on the rest of

the settings. Apparently, the auto adjustments differ from camera raw

version to version. So it would be highly problematic if I'm unable to get

this downloaded. Thank you

Anthony,

OK, now I know what is going on.

First off, please forgive me but I removed your phone number. It is very unwise to leave personal information like that on these boards. If you really really really want to place it here, if you do again I will not remove it.

But I now do know what's going on and no one needs to call you (at least I'm pretty sure).

Over the years Adobe refines their algorithms on how to interpret the raw information. As they refine it they place new codes within ACR and Lightroom to achieve a better and better appearance.

However, with the understanding that as this code is changed people will have exactly the situation that you're having above. So they provide to the user the ability to go back to any of the previous iterations of that code. This code is called the Process Version and can be found in the Calibration tab within ACR as shown below.

What I do not know is which of these was the active Process Version that was used in THAT release of ACR. You can see the various intentions of these process versions here: Process versions in Adobe Camera Raw

What you may have to do is to experiment which version provides the look that you wish to replicate.

Please let us know if this is the solution you were looking for.

Anthony is looking for the Auto-Tone algorithm from ACR 8.8.

Auto-Tone changes are different than Process Version changes.

Using the latest version of ACR 10.5, using Auto Tone in PV4 and PV5 produces the same Tone values.  Auto-Tone in PV3 is very slightly different, but in all causes the Auto algorithm changes Vibrance and Saturation which is a very new addition, so changing PV does not change the Auto-Tone algorithm.

--

I think the solution is for Anthony to install the very first PS CC (before the year started being added) from the CC app, then install the ACR 8.8 update from the links, earlier, and open the particular photo(s) in that older version and do Auto WB and Auto Tone.  After that, opening the photos in the newest PS/ACR/Bridge version will be ok as long as the toning sliders are not being touched.

The install for PS CC is available in Other Versions under PS in the CC App:

Thank you both for getting back to me. To be completely clear, see the

image attached. I need it so that when both of the "auto" selections are

made, it replicates version 8.8. Does this apply to what gary or ssprengel

Also, as I've already mentioned, the link that jeff gave me earier in the

message board seems like it should work but it is not working. Can someone

please confirm if they are able to get it working or is there something I'm

missing that I need to do? when I click the link it automatically

downloads, "setup.dmg" I click that then a window comes up with two

folders, one says AdobePatchInstaller the other says payloads. When I click

on the installer the following window comes up see attached. Maybe I'm

supposed to drag something somewhere in replace of something else? not sure.

What version of macOS are you using?

The easiest way to install is as follows after double clicking on the setup.dmg

1. Open the payloads folder

2.  Open the AdobeCameraRaw8.0All-120315145303 folder then double click on the /Volumes/AdobeCameraRaw-8.8-CC-mul-AdobeUpdate/payloads/AdobeCameraRaw8.0All- 120315145303.zip

3. Open Assests1>universal folder

4. Copy the Camera Raw.plugin to
