Adobe Captivate 9 Crashing on Mac

New Here ,
Jan 05, 2016 Jan 05, 2016

I downloaded the trial version for Mac (9.0.0.223).   OSX is version 10.11.2 (15C50) (El Capitan).  I can import and preview an imported Powerpoint, but anything else crashes Captivate.

Example:

- Create a blank project.

- Double-click on the title to change it.

Captivate crashes.

‌Captivate 9 is not compatible with El Capitan yet, unfortunately.

It is completely unacceptable that Adobe has not yet upgraded CP 9 to El Capitan, which was released on Sep 30, and you know that Adobe had support copies long before that.  I hope someone from Adobe is following this thread.  This is awful support.

I just wanted to make sure you knew that the latest download for Captivate includes support for El Capitan.

"Apart from supporting all the operating systems supported by Captivate 9, Captivate 9.0.1 also offers Mac 10.11.3 support."

Download instructions and additional information can be found here:

You've got to be kidding. It doesn't support El Capitan? Wow. When was that released, must be 6 months ago now.

And here I thought I was doing something wrong. I was so excited, got a project outline ready and everything.

It crashes all over the place. I was just editing a button on a sample project. Crashes on importing PowerPoint PPTX files, only workss with really small PPT files.

Very disappointing Adobe.

LATEST

9.0.1.320 supports El Capitan. The first version of CP9 was released before the release of El Capitan, which explains why it was not compatible. Captivate is in the first place an eLearning authoring tool, not a PPT converter at all. Of course iOS doesn't support any plug-in for PPT, hence the much better solutions as Adobe Presenter, iSpring and Articulate Presenter for those who only want to convert a PPT are not available for Mac users. Which company should be pointed at ?
