Hi there, I'm a new user of Captivate 9, and I really need some help please.
When I publish one of my projects, the tab key moves around the browser and TOC. I have Seamless Tabbing unticked, and in Publish Settings I have ticked 'Restrict keyboard tabbing to slide items only'.
Any suggestions of where I have gone wrong in this project? Thanks in advance for any assistance

Hi,
May I know which browser you are using and whether your content is SWF or HTML5?
Also, can you check your version number under Help > About Adobe Captivate ? Make sure it is the latest version i.e. 9.0.1.320
Does your project/the slide in question have any interactive items on it?
Thanks,
Mohana

Hi Mohana
Thank you so much for helping me.
It is a SWF file, which I am opening in Internet Explorer (all of our e-learning modules are opened in Internet Explorer, although the problem didn't happen when I tried it in Firefox just now) The version is 9.0.0.223
The slide only has the following in the timeline:
Text Box caption 1300
Click box 2612
Slide 29
When I preview the file the tab key works perfectly, but once I publish it, it moves outside the slide and around the browser.
Thank you again for helping me with this, I greatly appreciate it

Hello,
So the TAB key is used only to navigate between interactive objects on the slide, such as, Buttons and Smartshape buttons. On your slide, you have a Text caption and a Click box, hence the TAB key will not navigate to them. To read the text caption, you can use UP/DOWN arrow keys. And instead of a click box, you can try using a transparent smartshape button.
Thanks,
Mohana

Thanks Mohana
When I press the TAB key, it is only to move to the next slide. I am simulating tabbing through a form and skipping the boxes that do not require an answer. So I need to tab from slide to slide to slide until I need to input data.
Do I still need to have an interactive object on each slide to do this?
Thanks

Can you try using TAB as a shortcut key for your click box to move to the next slide?

Hello,
I have tried that, and it works in preview, but not when published!
Thanks 🙂

What kind of project is it i.e. Blank / Responsive / Simulation?
If it is specific to a project could you share the project or some slides? You could upload it to Dropbox and share the link at mdas@adobe.com
Thanks,
Mohana

Hi,
I seem to have a similar tabbing issue. The difference for me is that tabbing works on all HTML5 browsers except IE 11. Any thoughts on how to correct this? Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
