I am seeing an issue with Captivate 12.3.0.12 (not Captivate Classic) while recording a software simulation. I'm on MacBook Pro with Sonoma 14.5.
When I record, regardless of if it's demo, assessment or training, the actual application I'm trying to record (in this case, a web-based app in Chrome) does not get recorded. Instead, I see only my desktop background image (in my case, mountains with grasses and trees). The click boxes and instructions/text captions appear in the right spots, just not the actual application.
I found threads for a similar problem long ago in Captivate Classic, the solution being to make sure you are running as an admin.... I am. I've also uninstalled and re-installed Captivate. Any ideas?

Curious...do you have multiple monitors? Is Captivate focusing on the wrong monitor? (I had something like this happen to me like this and it was because of my multipl monitors.)

I do have multiple monitors but had read that this can cause an issue, so tried again with just my main monitor after resetting, restarting etc. and still had the same issue.
Someone from Adobe reached out and we were able to figure it out over screenshare. One thing we checked was in the system settings, under Privacy and Security, then Screen and System Audio Recording, making sure permissions were turned on for Captivate.
We also walked through a series of steps to give read and write permissions for some setting for all users, but I unfortunately cannot remember where in the settings it was.
However, Captivate now correctly records the application during a software sim, AND I can do it with two monitors.
