I am having an issue with a play bar that I created for Captivate 8. We have a lot of animations and videos in our projects. Recently I created a play bar that functions similar to the YouTube play bar. The user can start, stop, rewind, fast forward, or jump back and forth in the video. The video can also be paused by clicking on it. The animations are in an area of their own with the text to the side. When the user places the mouse over the animation, it bogs down, and plays slowly. If the mouse is moved off of the play bar the animation plays at normal speed. Obviously there is something with the play bar that is causing this, I just have no idea what it might be or how to fix it. The play bar is coded in the Animate CC swf file that is then imported into Captivate. The swf used in captivate contains the coding and graphics for the play bar and an FLV with the animation content.
Now, I am not sure how to show anyone an example of what I am talking about. I am not sure if I will be allowed to upload a sample for anyone to look at. I can give some details and hope for the best.
We use Captivate 8
Windows 10
Our animations may be video, Animate animations, or After Effects work.
Either way, we take the animation put it into AE and create an FLV, that goes back to Animate to create the SWF with the play bar for use in Captivate. Yeah I hate this process but to get Captivate to allow us to replay the video and audio this is the only solution we have found, since Captivate doesn't have a replay option. We had to create our own widget to get the slides to replay. This play bar is an additional one that is embedded in the swf file so the user can scrub through the video with out having to restart the whole page.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Let me know what else you might need as far as information. Thanks in advance.
