Audio editor not showing in Captivate 6

New Here ,
May 25, 2017 May 25, 2017

When I try to open the Audio Editor nothing opens but I have to use the Esc key to move on (as if it's open but it's really not open). I've tried opening from the Timeline (double clicking audio or right-click Edit...) and from the Advanced Audio Management screen, the window is just not there.

I am using Windows 10, Surface Pro 4. Should really upgrade but captivate 6 does the job for my projects. Any help will be appreciated.

All was working well up until a couple of days.

Sorry but you just have been lucky that this old version of Captivate ever worked on the Surface Pro 4, and Win10. It is not supporting the retina screen of the Surface, and is not compatible with Win10 (only CP9 and 2017 are).

I can only recommend you to try to clear the preferences and clear the cache.

Thank you - it sound like I have been lucky. I have been publishing projects via the surface pro 4 since last June. Will be requesting my IT team to upgrade. In the interim I have manage this morning to access the audio edit screen via the edit option through the library, so hopefully can finish my current project. - Thank you again for the advice.

Is it possible you may have been using this Surface Pro with a dual monitor setup recently and could have moved the Audio dialog off the main monitor to the extended monitor at some time?

If so, your issue might simply be that the dialog IS appearing, but not where you can see it with a single screen now.

Lieve's suggestion of clearing the Preferences usually resets everything again.  But if that doesn't work, you may need to plug in another monitor again and find the dialog to move it back to the main screen.

RodWard - Yes I have used a dual screen recently. This has happen before before but on this occasion it was not the case.

In the interim I have manage this morning to access the audio edit screen via the edit option through the library, so hopefully can finish my current project. - Thank you again for the advice- much appreciated.
