Audio recorded in PowerPoint

Hi-

I have an animated PPT that has audio recorded to it (animations are timed to the audio) and I want to take it into captivate.   Does captivate support this or do I need to record in captivate and then time the animations to the voice after the fact.  I hope not---many of these animations are incredible complex (not just your standard bullet by bullet or fly in, as an example)

Thanks!

The cpvc file that you create with the Video Demo, has a dedicated video editor. You can not only edit the video, but also add static images, text etc. You can also cut the video in different clips. Each clip can be inserted in a normal Captivate project, as a CPVC slide, and you can mix those video slides with Quiz slides.

Personally I never use PPT to start an eLearning project. I think a plugin for PPT is much more appropriate for that goal. PPT is so different from Captivate, if you are serio

If the PPT is not interactive, I would recommend to play it and capture it using the Video Demo. I don't think you'll be totally satisfied by just importing the PPT.

I am new to captivate, so please excuse my lack of knowledge.  If I am understanding you correctly, at this time as an actual powerpoint, it is not interactive in the sense that people take a quiz question in the middle.  But there animations that are timed with the audio recorded in PPT. I want to import the audio with the PPT and retain the timing of the animation, but then have blank slides that I can create interactions via questions throughout and add a quiz at the end.

I dont know if I can do that with a video.

Thanks for your help

PPT is so different from Captivate, if you are serious about creating eLearning the best way is still to start from scratch in Captivate. For audio there are several available features, and there is roundtripping with Audition.

Thanks, and I agree that creating in Captivate is the best way for an eLearning project, but at this time I dont have another option and it doesnt help that I am new to Captivate.  I will try doing the video demo and then importing as CPVC slide and then mixing in the questions.

Thank for you help!

You will have either to create the individual clips in different files, or split them up in the editor if you want to insert normal (quiz) slides in between.
