I don't know why but suddenly when I am working on a project in Captivate and the slide is working fine in the timeline, when I go to preview the project (or published) it will not play sound on some of my slides.
It is working in the timeline, but not when I preview.
I've tried adjusting my active/inactive, deleting and adding a new Typing text box, I've added space before and after the audio starts on the slide, removing the audio and generating again. I've tried clearing the cache, shutting down and restarting.
My mute button is not selected and my Publish Audio Settings are checked, so I know that's not it. See screenshot below of timeline.
Any ideas why this might be happening?
Thanks in advance.

Do the same slides NOT play audio when you upload the published output to a web server or LMS and play from there?

No still no sound.
What I did do was found a text entry box from a video I confirmed worked, then copy & pasted it into this video. That seemed to be a work around, but not sure what the ultimate issues was.

That screenshot is NOT showing the whole timeline, only the last part. Is it possible to post a full Timeline screenshot? It seems to be a very long slide (better to distribute over multiple slides), which probably means a heavy audio clip (check its size) which has to be loaded On Enter for the slide and could lead to lagging.
Play slide is not a preview method at all. How is the project behaving when you use Preview HTML5 in Browser for a normal project) or Preview Project?

I have the same issue with Captivate 2017. Whatever the first slide is in my preview (or the published project), the first slide audio does not play. I have the project set up to auto play (i.e. no Play button on start). I can force it to play audio by tapping the pause button in the media bar, and then tapping play, but it won't play audio by itself, even though the timeline is moving. I've tried adding an Advanced action to play audio, and that doesn't help. I think my only work-around will be to NOT auto start.

If you publish to HTML and are on 10.0.1.285, Autoplay is disabled as is the case in recent version of Chrome. This will probably be forced in browsers in the future, so it is a good practice to cope with it.

Thanks! We have users on both IE and Chrome, so we can't control which browser they'll use. I confirmed that the course works in both browsers if I avoid autoplay. Your answer is correct.
